Uzbekistan receives $3.8B worth of remittances

İn the first 9 months of 2018, Uzbekistan received remittances in the amount of $3.8 billion, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek media.

Of these, $3.4 billion accounted for personal transfers, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

"The surplus of secondary income for the 9 months of this year reached $3 billion due to transfers to individuals from abroad," said the message.

In the first 9 months, Uzbekistan received remittances from Russia ($2.96 billion), Kazakhstan ($247.1 million), the US ($138.1 million), Turkey ($154.9 million), South Korea ($77.1 million), Israel ($39.4 million), Sweden, the UAE and other countries.

In turn, remittances from Uzbekistan, amounting to $639 million in the 9 months, were mainly sent to China, Ukraine, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Poland and other countries.
