Kazakhstan reports increase in monetary base value

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. The value of Kazakhstan’s monetary base amounted to 12.07 trillion tenge ($25.5 billion) in August 2022, which is 4.3 percent more than as in July 2022 and is 10.2 percent more than in December 2021, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

"The narrow reserve money equaled 7.9 trillion tenge ($16.7 billion), which is 4.8 percent more than last month and 14.3 percent more than in December 2021," the report said.

"In turn, the value of the currency in circulation stood at 3.2 trillion tenge ($6.9 billion), which is 1.4 percent less than last month and 10 percent more than in December 2021," the statement said.

M1 money aggregate increased by 0.2 percent since the beginning of the year and amounted to 8.8 trillion tenge ($18.6 billion), whereas M2 money aggregate increased by 5 percent and equaled 24.9 trillion tenge ($52.7 billion).

"The broad money value amounted to 31.5 trillion tenge ($66.7 billion), which is up by 0.5 percent compared to last month and by 4.9 percent compared to December 2021," the report said.
