Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 28 / Trend H. Valiyev /
Uzbek customs rules create a barrier for export of the computer equipment-producing factory KUR's products, KUR told Trend today.
The question is about supplying the first batch of Internet kiosks, preliminary discussions on which were held with the KomTel Company within the first national exhibition of Azerbaijan, which took place on Nov.5-7 in the exhibition complex Uzexpocentre in Uzbekistan.
According to KUR, talks with the Uzbek side were held also within the 16th International Telecommunications Exhibition BakuTel-2010, but today an agreement has not yet been reached on when these devices will enter the Uzbek market.
Configuration of Internet kiosks depends on customer needs. They can be equipped with ports Wi-Fi, WiMAX, LAN, etc., as well as devices receiving coins and banknotes.
In the near future KUR plans to start installing Internet kiosks in public places in Baku.
At present, Internet kiosks are used by public and private enterprises in Azerbaijan. Stand-alone devices are connected to the Internet via WiMAX technology at speeds of 1 Mbps and are equipped with printers, which allow users to print information received through the terminal.
