Turkey developes rival to WhatsApp
Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 8
By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:
The new instant messaging application PTT Messenger, developed in Turkey, will be able to compete with WhatsApp, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey told Trend Feb. 8.
"The main advantage of PTT Messenger is that all user messages and other information will be stored in a database in Turkey," according to the ministry.
The ministry noted that PTT Messenger is much safer than other mobile applications.
“The application will first be used by Turkish civil servants, and then become available to all Turkish citizens,” the ministry said.
It is expected that soon the mobile application's name will be changed, the ministry noted.
