BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 8. EU countries exported 85,910 smartphones (up 1.6 times) worth 67.7 million euros to Azerbaijan from January through September 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from the European Union's statistical agency (Eurostat), this is 1.8 times larger in value terms year on year.
From January to September 2023, the Czech Republic ranked first among exporters, with 83,360 smartphones (a 1.6-fold increase) worth 67.4 million euros (a 1.8-fold increase).
According to Eurostat, the EU shipped 75,020 smartphones worth 53.9 million euros to Azerbaijan in 2022.
From January to August 2023, total smartphone imports to Azerbaijan totaled 803,920 units, a two percent increase year on year.
According to figures from Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee, imports of these products totaled $206.2 million (a 26 percent increase).
The main supplies of smartphones came from China - 555,770 items (up 22 percent) worth $140.5 million (up 52 percent).
Other major suppliers included Vietnam with 191,570 items ($48.1 million) and India with 55,860 items ($17.2 million).
