Volume of cargo transported in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.8 billion tons, which is 3.7 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The largest volume of cargo transported was observed in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, which accounts for 781.7 million tons, which is 4.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
The second and third places account for East Kazakhstan region and Almaty city, the volume of cargo transported in which amounted to 598.4 million tons (increase by 6.6 percent) and 231 million tons (increase by 0.8 percent) respectively.
In turn, the number of passengers transported in Kazakhstan amounted to 21.7 billion people during 11 months of 2019, which is 3.6 percent more than during 11 months of 2018.
Almaty city is the leader by the number of transported passenger during the reporting period. Over 5 billion people were transported in Almaty city, which is 7.6 percent more than during 11 months of 2018.
Almaty city is followed by Nur-Sultan city, where 2.3 billion people were transported, which is 0.4 percent more than during the same period of last year.
The third place went to Karaganda region, where some 2.2 billion passengers were transported, which is 2.5 percent more than during the same period of last year.
