More than 12.63 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January-July 2016, which is 2.3 percent more than in the same period of 2015, read a message issued by the Kazakh Economy Ministry’s Committee on Statistics.
Revenues from passenger transportation stood at around 224.76 billion tenges (347 tenges = $1) during the period.
Passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles increased by 2.3 percent in January-July 2016 and neared 12.61 billion people.
Air transportation of passengers increased by 1 percent and neared 3.33 million people during the period.
This is while the rail passenger transportation decreased by 28.1 percent and stood at 12.7 million people during the period.
