DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 4. The governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the industrial sector, Trend reports.
The agreements were finalized following high-level meetings attended by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.
Among the key agreements is a memorandum on trade cooperation between the two governments.
In total, nine documents were signed, with five agreements completed in the presence of the heads of state. The remaining four were signed within the frame of an official visit by Rahmon to Kuwait.
The signed agreements include:
- A memorandum of cooperation between the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Academy of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A protocol amending the agreement between Tajikistan and Kuwait on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion on income and capital.
- A memorandum addressing labor regulation in the private sector.
- An agreement between the National Information Agency of Tajikistan (Khovar) and Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)
- A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in physical culture and sports.
- A memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in standardization.
- An executive program for the tourism cooperation agreement between Tajikistan and Kuwait for 2024-2026.
