A report on preparations for the upcoming visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to the Russian Federation was presented at the last government meeting, the Turkmen government said on Friday.
During the visit, Berdimuhammadov will attend an informal CIS summit in Moscow and also visit the Republic of Tatarstan, where he will hold talks with the country's head Rustam Minnikhanov on further increasing the fruitful bilateral cooperation built on a long term basis, the report said. This year Turkmenistan presides over the CIS.

The government report also quotes the Turkmen president who said that relations with the Republic of Tatarstan, are "a good example of successful productive partnership within Turkmenistan's dialogue with the largest regions of Russia which have been much more active in recent years".
Cooperation in the field of energy is developing with Tatneft and GC Turkmenneft having signed an agreement in 2008. The subject of the service contract is the provision of services aimed at improving oil recovery from existing wells and the further use of the potential oil production from the Goturdepe field. The term of the contract is seven years.
