ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 12. Farmers of the Dashoguz region located in the north of the country are starting to plant potatoes, Trend reports.
According to official data, the region's farmers expect a high
harvest of at least 14 tons per hectare this season.
The region's greatest potato producer will again be the Akdepe
area, with 3,440 ha of land set aside for sowing.
Furthermore, farmers from the Boldumsaz district - 'Bereket',
'Gokchaga', and 'Turkmenistan' agricultural groups will harvest
approximately 25,000 tons of potatoes this year.
The majority of the crop will be potato cultivars that have
previously been acclimated to local soil and climate conditions,
resulting in high yields and resistance to numerous illnesses.
