BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Uzbekistan exported to Kyrgyzstan some 11,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $2.6 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

The volume of fruit and vegetables exported from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan has decreased by 15.6 percent year-on-year (14,100 tons during the same period last year).

The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, in the reporting period, amounted to $167.2 million. Uzbekistan exported to Kyrgyzstan goods and services worth $129.1 million, while imports – were $38.2 million. In 2022, Kyrgyzstan imported from Uzbekistan some 155,600 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $42.9 million.

Meanwhile, in January through February 2023, Uzbekistan exported 135,600 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $116.4 million to its trade partners, decreasing by 1.2 times or 28,500 tons.

During the first two months of 2023, Uzbekistan exported some 17,600 tons of mug beans, 15,500 tons of dried grapes, 15,300 tons of cabbages, 11,100 tons of grapes, 7,600 tons of tomato, 6,200 tons of pomegranate, 4,400 tons of prunes, 3,600 tons of chili pepper, 1,400 tons of peanuts.

The main importers of Uzbek fruit and vegetables, besides Kyrgyzstan, were Kazakhstan (44,800 tons), Russia (29,200 tons), China (19,500 tons), Pakistan (9,200 tons), etc.
