Iran's deputy foreign minister Hossein Abdollahian says the best solution to end the violence in Syria is stopping arms flow to insurgents who are fighting the government, Mehr news agency reported.
The Iranian official who is on a visit to Egypt has called on regional countries to strictly control their borders with Syria to stop the smuggling of weapons by foreign-backed insurgents into the country.
Abdollahian also said that Tehran and Cairo share similar views on stopping the violence in Syria.
He rejected as baseless claims that Iran is interfering in the affairs of Islamic and Arab countries, stressing that Tehran has common interests with regional states.
