( IRNA ) - Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Amman, Jordan, to attend the World Economic Forum for the Middle East.
Mottaki, who is heading a high-ranking delegation, was welcomed at Amman airport by Jordanian officials, Iran's Ambassador to Amman Mohammad Irani.
The Iranian minister is scheduled to attend and deliver a speech at two meetings of the forum on regional stability and issues on Iran on Saturday.
On the sidelines of the forum, Mottaki is to confer with senior officials of the participating countries.
He is also to meet with Jordanian King Abdullah II and Foreign Minister Abdel Ilah Khatib.
The three-day World Economic Forum for the Middle East opened on the shores of the Dead Sea Friday evening.
Several political and economic figures are attending the forum to discuss various economic, political, cultural, educational and social topics.
The participants are to exchange views on threats the region is faced with as well as avenues to increase regional and international cooperation and understanding.
