. ( IRNA ) - IRI Ambassador at IAEA here called latest report of UN nuclear watchdog Chief Muhamed ElBaradei on Iran's nuclear program devoid of any new points.
Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh added in an interview with IRNA in Vienna, "This report is meanwhile an international document that once again confirms the legitimacy of our nuclear activities, and that Iran has not breached any of its international commitments, and that our activities have no deviation from peaceful objectives."
Iran's representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reiterated, "Based on this report, although Iran has pursued its enrichment activities, it has never created any obstacles in the way of the agency's inspections, or made any attempt aimed at delaying them, pursuing full cooperation with IAEA inspectors."
Soltaniyeh added, "Implementing the suspension of side agreements of Code 3.1 of the Revised NPT Safeguard, too, is reflected in this report, that is abiding by one of the demands put forth by the UNSC Resolution 1848, after being approved by the Iranian Parliament." Pointing out that the report also elaborates on Iran's construction of a heavy water nuclear reactor in Arak, he said, "It is clearly stated that there has been no evidence of any reprocessing activity pursued in Iran, that is quite obviously contradictory with the contents of the UNSC resolution that has asked for the suspension of Iran's reprocessing activities."
Iran's ambassador at IAEA added, "This report states that Iran due to suspending the voluntary implementation of the Additional NPT Protocol, has also resumed the related activities, and this point had also been mentioned in the previous IAEA report on Iran, which is a good cause for blaming the few countries that insisted on forwarding Iran's dossier to the UNSC."
Soltaniyeh meanwhile said, "On construction of a new reactor, Iran's justification is that this project is still at construction phase, and a long period remains till the injection of the nuclear substances. Therefore, there is no justification for additional inspections, particularly since Iran is already also applying the 3.1 Code.
He emphasized, "Regarding the remaining issues that are beyond our commitments in accordance with the nuclear NPT and even its Additional Protocol, too, Iran had already announced it would be ready to take steps, only on condition that our dossier would fully return to the IAEA, and the UNSC would end interfering.
