A senior Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohammad Mirjani said that Iran's missile capability has forced the enemies to change their strategy in regards to the country's nuclear program.

"If Iran didn't have its long-range missiles, [U.S. President Barack] Obama would still consider military option," he said, Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported on Dec. 14.

"The Americans know that our military options are even more than theirs," Mirjani noted, adding that Iran is capable of striking any position.

Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Nov. 10 that Tehran is the region's biggest missile power.

"Iran's powerful missiles and strategic equipments ensure the countries' position as a key player in maintaining the region's security," Larijani said, Iran's Fars News Agency reported on Nov. 10.

Some Western officials, particularly in the U.S., have called for Iran's missile program to be included in the country's nuclear talks with the P5+1.

The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani previously ruled out any negotiations whatsoever over the country's defensive missile capabilities.

"Iran's missile capability is by no means and at no level negotiable," Rouhani said in a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Yukia Amano in August.
