A tourism advisory council will be created in Georgia under the Ministry of Economy and the National Tourism Administration. According to the National Tourism Administration, relevant documents will be signed by the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dmitry Kumsishvili.
The objective of the Council is the consideration of global issues in tourism. The Council will develop recommendations and monitor their implementation for shaping correct directions of tourism development.
The Council is being established on the initiative of representatives engaged in businesses in the private sector, and will cooperate with the Economic Ministry and the National Tourism Administration.
It will include the Tourism Association, the Association of tour operators which is working to attract tourists to Georgia, the Guides Association, the Association of Private Employment Agencies, the National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development which will all have voting power.
