A rally against the burning of the Holy Quran will be held in Iran tomorrow at 4pm, Iranian Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Hamid Mohammadi was quoted by Iranian news agency İQNA as saying.

According to international media, pages from a Holy Quran were torn on Sept. 11 in front of the White House during a protest against Islam by a small group of people including a leader of the Tea Party movement.

Pages were not burned because the protestor explained that the burning of any object in front of the White House is a serious crime.

Meanwhile, Pastor Bob Old, together with his assistant, did burn the Holy Quran in Tennessee. Besides the Holy Quran, these men burned another book which mentioned the name of the prophet of Islam.

Mohammadi said that protests will be held in 12 Iranian provinces as well as in Tehran. He said that the Tehran rally will be held on Palestine Square. At the end of the meeting an ultimatum criticizing those who show disrespect to the Holy Quran will be distributed.
