( dpa ) - A Filipino man was found dead in a 16th story flat in what Singapore police have classified as murder, news reports said on Sunday.
The body of 27-year-old Filojfido Bernard Montemayor was in a sitting position on the floor with the upper torso slumped by the bed.
Police would not disclose the nature of the injuries except that they were on his upper body, The Sunday Times said. No weapon was found.
The victim, who was unemployed, was bare-chested and wore only a pair of shorts. He was believed to be in Singapore on a social visit pass.
Neighbours said he lived in the flat with another man and two women, all Filipinos in their 20s. The two women were said to be nurses.
Neighbours said they heard shouting and furniture being thrown around for 20 minutes.
"I could hear a woman's faint cries for help," a 14-year-old youth was quoted as saying.
The case is the second murder this year. A man was charged with murder three weeks ago for causing the death of a 3-year-old toddler.
