At least 10 people were killed on Tuesday in a clash between the Mexican Army and a group of attackers in a shopping center in the city of Reynosa, northern Mexico, Xinhua reported.
The clash occurred at about 09:00 a.m. local time in Las Fuentes district and the explosion of grenades could still be heard at noon, local radio reported.
The soldiers also surrounded other shopping centers with dozens of buyers inside, the report said.
Initial reports said the dead included five officers from the federal forces and five attackers.
