A 6.7-magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand's remote Kermadec Islands region Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, CNN reported.
The quake hit at about 1:23 p.m. Saturday (9:23 p.m. ET Friday) about 825 km (520 miles) northeast of Auckland, New Zealand, the agency said. The depth of the quake in the South Pacific Ocean was 10 km (6.2 miles).
