At least 13 people were killed and four others critically injured in a major road mishap in the southern Indian state of Karnataka Saturday, said police.
The mishap happened when a speeding car collided with a state- run public bus at Koppergoan area in Bidar district. All the victims were returning to their homes in Maharashtra from a pilgrimage, said police, Xinhua reported.
The injured are battling for their lives at a local hospital.
The road accident rate in India is among the highest in the world, with at least 100,000 killed each year on the road.
