BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to attend the BRICS summit in South Africa by mutual agreement, Trend reports.
This was announced on the website of the Office of President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Russian Federation will be represented at the event by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The BRICS summit will be held in South Africa at the end of August.
BRICS, originally named BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China), is an acronym for the world economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China, which in 2010 had included the letter S for South Africa.
