Turkey's agricultural exports to Germany up in Jan.-Sept. 2019

From January to September 2019, Turkey's exports of fruits and vegetables to Germany grew by 2 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to 100,452 tons, a source at Turkey's Union of Exporters of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables told Trend.

As the source noted, in monetary terms, the export of fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Germany during the reported period increased by 6 percent and amounted to $180.147 million.

From January to September 2019, Turkey exported 58,356 tons of fruits to Germany, which is 4 percent more compared to the volume of fruit exports in the same period of 2019. In the first nine months of 2019, Turkey's exports of fruits to Germany amounted to $127 million in monetary terms, which is similar to the volume in the same period of 2019.

Within this period, the exports of vegetables from Turkey to Germany increased by 9 percent compared to January-September 2019, and amounted to 36,666 tons.

In the first nine months of 2019, Turkey's exports of vegetables to Germany amounted to $49.925 million in monetary terms, which is 32 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the source, in the first nine months of 2019, Turkey's exports of citrus fruits to Germany decreased by 36 percent, and amounted to 5,430 tons.

From January to September 2019, Turkey's exports of citruses to Germany amounted to $3.222 million in monetary terms, which is 44 percent less than in the nine months of 2019.

In total, from January to September 2019, Turkey's exports of fruits and vegetables decreased by 19 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to 2.235 million tons.

According to the source, from January to September 2019, Turkey's income from exports of fruits and vegetables decreased by 12 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $1.344 billion.

In the first nine months of 2019, 864,346 tons of fruits were exported from Turkey, which is 6 percent less compared to the same period of 2018. During the indicated period, Turkey’s income from fruit exports decreased by 1 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $638.402 million.

According to the source, from January to September 2019, Turkey's exports of vegetables decreased by 16 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to 727.999 million tons. Within the same period in 2019, Turkey's vegetable exports amounted to $428.987 million in monetary terms.

In the first nine months of 2019, Turkey exported 643,062 tons of citrus fruits, which is 40 percent less compared to January-September 2018. Meanwhile, Turkey's exports of citruses amounted to $277.126 million in monetary terms.
