The export of cars from Turkey to international markets dropped by 24 percent from January through September 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $12.3 billion, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
At the same time, Turkey’s car exports made up 15.7 percent of the country's total exports for the mentioned period, the ministry noted.
In September 2020, Turkey exported cars worth over $2.6 billion to international markets, which is 24 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, said the ministry.
The ministry stressed that Turkey’s clothing exports for September 2020 accounted for 15.7 percent of the country's total exports.
Over the past 12 months (from September 2019 through September 2020), Turkey exported cars worth over $25.1 billion abroad.
