Iranian filmmaker Rouhollah Hejazi's screen production The Private Life of Mr. and Mrs. M. has garnered two prizes at Canada's 4th Iranian Film Festival, Press TV reported.
Hejazi's family drama knocked other participants out of first place in two categories of the festival that was held in Toronto.
The Private Life of Mr. and Mrs. M. received the Best Film award and the Best Director award of the event.
The movie chronicles Mohsen who tries to promote his business life, but when his wife gets involved in the business, he faces some conflicts in achieving his ambitious goals.
The Best Short Film award went to This Was My City directed by Tina Pakravan while the Best Animation award went to Fishers directed by Nima Ghazanfari.
Parviz Parastui won the Best Actor award for his role in Ziba and I directed by Fereidoun Hassanpour and the Best Actress prize was presented to Parivash Nazarieh for her role in Rasoul Sadr-Ameli's Waiting for Miracle.
A Lifetime Achievement award went to Iran's leading actress Gohar Kheirandish, who was also the head of the jury at this year's festival.
Canada's 4th Iranian Film Festival was held in Toronto from April 26 to 28, 2013.
