Iran says not to halt uranium enrichment for a day

Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2

By Khalid Kazimov -- Trend:
Iran will not halt the enrichment of uranium for one day, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.

Not only uranium enrichment, but rather the whole nuclear industry of Iran are recognized under the nuclear deal and the research and development program will be pursued in full, he said, Fars news agency reported September 2.

Araqchi added that Iran is going to use generation 6 and 8 centrifuges to reach 190 SWUs of enrichment in 15 years.

"The lifting of sanctions as required by the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also among the achievements of the nuclear negotiation team," he said.

According to Araqchi, Iranian diplomats agreed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action after consultations with military and security organizations such as the Ministry of Intelligence, Ministry of Defense, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, etc.

He stated that all limitations imposed on Iran through the nuclear deal are transient, adding that the limitations do not shut down any industry in Iran, including the nuclear industry.

The JCPOA, reached between Iran and the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) on July 14, will impose some limitations on Iran 's nuclear program in return for removing economic sanctions.

While some western countries claim the deal will prevent Iran from pursuing its nuclear as well as some military programs, the Iranian defendants of the deal deny such claims.
