The leader of Georgia's Way Party, the country's former Foreign Minister, the former ambassador of France to Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will leave New York for Paris to meet with French Foreign Minister. In the aftermath, they will visit Georgia for registration as a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections, according to the information posted on Zurabishvili's page in facebook social network.
The leader of the Georgian Way Party can face problems with registration due to her dual citizenship.
To date around 36 applications for participation in the presidential election were submitted to the Georgian CEC. Two have already been officially registered.
All presidential aspirants must submit the signatures of 26,234 voters till September 7. The registration of presidential candidates will be completed on September 17.
Presidential elections in Georgia will be held on October 27.
