Reconstructed Julfa railway station in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic put into operation

Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, Dec. 23/ corr. Trend E. Mammadov/ The reconstruction of a railroad station which was built about 100 years ago was completed in Julfa region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Julfa railway station was modernized but architecture of the building was retained.

The control center of the station, administrative and additional building of trains repair were refurbished in accordance with modern standards, Makhir Aliyev, head of Nakhchivan part of the Azerbaijan state railroad, said.

So, 22 working rooms, waiting rooms for passengers, a cash desk and a restaurant were refurbished at the railway station. Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov while participating at the ceremony of opening presented two Chevrolet-Niva service cars to the station.

Presently, Julfa railway station operates in 60 different routes designed for internal passenger transportation.
