Statistics on fishery revealed in Azerbaijan

In line with quotas for catching 1,185.8 tons of fish in Azerbaijan issued to 151 legal entities and individuals in accordance with the rules for using fish and other aquatic biological resources, 1,176.6 tons of fish were caught in 2019, which is 27.1 percent less than in 2018, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee on Feb. 11.

In the total mass of the fish caught, 694 tons account for sprat, 105.7 tons – Caspian white fish (kutum), 81.3 tons - herring, 69.9 tons - mullet, 59.7 tons - common roach, 40.8 tons - bream, 45.4 tons - carp, 20 tons - crucian carp, 10 tons - pike perch, 8.2 tons – Caspian shemaya, 5 tons - catfish, 3.4 tons – vimba bream, 2 tons – asp and 31.2 tons - for other types of fish.

Last year, fishermen paid quotas for 101,600 manat ($59,764).
