Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / In the firs6t quarter of 2007, 601 traffic accidents were registered in Azerbaijan, which resulted in death of 194 people and injury of 685 people. The Central State Traffic Police Department informed Trend on 7 April that 358 accidents happened in Baku, which put an end to lives of 90 citizens and injured 422.
The total number of accidents was up 81 cases as compared to the same period of 2006, while fatalities increased by 14 cases and injuries by 134 cases. The number of accidents registered in the capital exceeded the figure of 2006 by 31 cases, and injuries by 101 cases, whilst the fatalities decreased by two times.
