Eight Members of Taliban Arrested: Chief of Kabul Police

Afghanistan, Kabul, 29 September / Trend corr. A.Hakimi / Muhammad Eyyubi Salengi, the chief of the Head Police Department of Kabul city stated on detention of eight armed members of Taliban. Four of them were arrested in the centre of the Afghan capital and the rest - outskirts of Kabul.

The Head Police Department arrested 42 rebels, four people with the charge of fabrication of false documents and 184 people for theft case during 13 operations, Eyyubi Salengi said at a news conference, which was dedicated to activity of the department in August and September, in Kabul on 29 September, Trend correspondent reported.

According to Salengi, nine members of group, which produced fake alcoholic drinks, were arrested during the operations.

Truck, which conveyed the fake alcoholic drinks, was detained in the capital city, the chief of the Kabul Head police Department said. A total of 1,024 bottles of drinks were found out in the truck.

Seven kilogram of opium and 5kg of heroine was withdrawn as a result of operations held in Kabul in August and September.

Salengi said that 15 people, who use false documents, were arrested.

Twenty stolen motorcycles and 182 different ammunitions were found out, he said. All of them were demonstrated to journalists at a news conference on 29 September. 

A total of 2024 car drivers, who were under suspicion, were detained and 197 satellites and banned video cassettes were withdrawn during the operation. The police arrested 200 beggars, as well.
