Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 13/ Trend , N. Kirtskhalia/
The UN Security Council will discuss extending the organization's mandate to Georgia at 19:00. Preliminary consultations have ended. The results have not yet been made public.
Russia and Abkhazia said Abkhazia is an independent country and demand that the mission's name be changed. One mission cannot operate in two countries, they said. Tbilisi adamantly opposes their request.
Abkhazia initially said it will hinder the mission's work if its name is not changed.
Abkhaz Foreign Minister Sergey Shaiba said Abkhazia will not interfere with the mission's activities on Feb. 12.
The Security Council is expected to extend the mandate by four months.
