After examining the technical state of roads in Azerbaijan, a number of inconsistencies with rules of safe operation were revealed, Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov said during the event on the occasion of the professional holiday of workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations today.
He said that an appeal was sent to the relevant bodies to ensure the safe movement via 82 bridges in 27 administrative districts.
Minister said that about 26,212 installations and other equipment at 4,014 enterprises were checked and 12,464 violations were revealed in 2009 to ensure government control to prevent potential accidents and disasters, to protect people and environment.
"About 1,943 appeals were made to comply with the rules of operation.
Exploitation of 610 installations and other equipment was temporarily suspended till troubleshooting. About 8,459 violations have been eliminated," Heydarov said.
He said that up to 600 violations of fire engineering and construction standards were revealed in 370 facilities which are historical and cultural monuments and 10 tourist sites. An appeal was sent to the relevant authorities.
