The recent events in Taksim Square stymied the government of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, head of the far-right 'Nationalist Movement Party' of Turkey Devlet Bahceli said in his speech on Tuesday, Turkish 'TRT Haber' TV channel reported.

Bahceli also noted that the ruling party dealt a blow to the national spirit of the state. He added that the Prime Minister Erdogan does not recognize any political competition in the country and does not take other political opinions.

Rallies in support of the protesters in Gezi Park on Taksim Square downtown in Istanbul took place in different cities of Turkey. One person was killed as a result of the fire opened by unknown persons in the Turkish province of Hatay during a protest held in support of the events in Taksim Square of Istanbul.
