BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. A phone conversation has taken place between Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Interim Government Assad Hassan Al-Shibani, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
During the conversation, the ministers discussed Azerbaijan-Syria relations and the regional security situation.
Both sides noted that following the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, there are broad prospects for expanded cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria.
Appreciation was expressed for the support provided toward the resumption of Azerbaijan’s embassy operations in Syria after a long pause. The importance of Azerbaijan’s intent to participate in Syria’s reconstruction, as well as its humanitarian assistance efforts, was emphasized in the context of contributing to stability in the country.
In this context, the significance of establishing a tripartite collaborative framework among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Syria was underscored.
The ministers engaged in a discourse on both bilateral and multilateral matters of reciprocal significance.
