Relations between Russia and Israel are only strengthening, said Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu speaking at the opening ceremony of the XII World Congress of Russian Press in Tel Aviv.

"I like very much Russian-speaking people. One-fifth of Israel speaks Russian. Cancellation of the visa regime with Russia is a good thing. We are now examining the possibility of lifting the visa regime with Ukraine. I appreciate the bond between our two peoples, who speak Russian. And this connection is only strengthening ", - said Netanyahu.

According to him, Russia has made considerable effort in the development of the global economy. "Our nations have a great potential for development of such areas as electronics and agriculture", - said the prime minister.

Netanyahu also touched on the problem of Iran's nuclear program. "We have to stop radical Islamic terror. Your enemies are our enemies and our enemies are yours. This fanatical ideology will lead to no good. If Iran will have nuclear weapons, it will be very dangerous. I believe that we stand before the test, whether the country will stop this threat. I expect that countries that want everything to be OK, worked with us to stop these threats, "- said the Israel's prime minister.

Speaking at the opening of Congress, Russian Presidential Administration head Sergei Naryshkin noted that in Israel, as well as throughout the world, Russian-language publications number is increasing.

"We are united not only by the Russian language, but also common values," - said Naryshkin.

Twelfth World Congress of Russian Press will be held for the inititaive of the World Association of Russian Press (WARP) from May 23 to 27 in various cities in Israel.

A photo exhibition by the ITAR-TASS Russian news agency will be held at the event.
