Person suspected of robbery in Turkey’s jewelry store arrested in Georgia

The Constitutional Security Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry disclosed the case about the robbery of a large jewelry store in Turkey. One member of the criminal gang, who robbed a shop in Ordu city and took the jewelry worth 1 million Turkish lira, was detained, Deputy Chief of the Department Soso Topuridze said at a press briefing on Saturday.
He said that leader of the group Vakhtang Purtseladze was detained. Some stolen things were found at his houses in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.
Topuridze said that the operations are underway to arrest other gang members and to find other things. The law enforcement agencies know their names.
According to the Turkish side, the robbers from Georgia were wanted after they dug an eight-meter-tunnel, entered a jewelry store in the city of Ordu and took many values.
