Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr. Z. Safarov / Azerbaijani chess grand master, Teymur Rajabov, has won the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the Match of Hopes held in Porto-Vekkio city of Corsica.
The competitors played two rounds with '10+ 3' control time in a draw. In a short chess competition Rajabov won with 3:2 score. He is an acknowledged swift chess master and usually gains success in such competitions. Azerbaijani chess player takes the 7th place in the FIDE table, while Magnus takes the 22nd.
Before the Match of Hopes Rajabov became a silver medallist of team championship in Russia.
