Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 September/ Trend , U. Ismayilova/ Azerbaijan imported commodities worth $1.5bln in January to August 2008 from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) which makes up 33% of total import of the country, State Customs Committee said.
Azerbaijan imported grain crops, land vehicles, ferrous materials, equipment and mechanicals from CIS.
Azerbaijan exported commodity to CIS worth $1.01bln which makes up 2.68% of total export.
Azerbaijan exported mainly mineral fuel, sugar, confectionary from sugar, chemical substances, animal and vegetable oil, cotton, vegetables and fruits.
There was a red ink of $490mln in import-export operations with CIS.
