Azerbaijani DemirBank began to provide urgent money transfer systems via PrivatMoney to expand its activity, a statement said.

The customers will be able to receive money via PrivatMoney from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other CIS countries, as well as Great Britain, Italy, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Cyprus. Money transfers are implemented through PrivatMoney in dollars and euros for 7-10 minutes.

"Our main strategy is to expand the range of services for money transfers. Our opportunities were increased after joining PrivatMoney system. The bank plans to join other money transfer systems," Yusif Jabbarov, deputy chairman of the bank, said.

DemirBank offers money transfer services to 200 world countries through Western Union, Bistraya Pochta, Zolotaya Korona, Coinstar and Blizko. The bank also transfers money within the country through its own system "Simsek".

The money transfer systems are carried out in 29 branches of DemirBank in Baku and regions.

DemirBank also provides additional information on money transfers through its information center "149". This allows customers to dial 149 and learn about money transfer without coming to the bank.

One of the first banks of Azerbaijan, DemirBank (formerly called Azerdemiryolbank) started its operations in October 1989. Shareholders of the Banks include large international financial institutions, such as European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO).
