Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Azerbaijan in 2010 dismissed eight employees for violations identified in their work, Minister Fizuli Alekperov said during a Board meeting on results of 2010.
"During the year, 116 staff of the Ministry were reprimanded, 34 officers have been warned, and one employee was reported to appropriate law-enforcement authorities because of violations in his work," said the minister.
According to him, two officers of the Ministry were dismissed in 2011. But despite these drastic measures, the ministry has achieved the expected results in the provision of services to population.
"The ministry will take more serious measures with regards to employees who are unable to adequately perform their duties," said the minister.
During the meeting, the minister instructed to create a special commission to improve the quality of the ministry's work, as well as develop an action plan for the working group that will allow to consider complaints from the public within one week. It was also instructed to develop proposals to reduce the number of documents submitted for targeted social assistance to the population.
