Kazakhstan takes all the necessary measures to eradicate seat of foot-and-mouth disease in the south of the country, the press-service of the Kazakh ministry of agriculture says on Friday.
'Currently we take package measures to eradicate infection in initial seat and create buffer zone to prevent further spread of infection. Vaccine for immunization of susceptible livestock has been allocated from the country reserves. Measures on annihilating perished animals and isolation of infected sheep have been taken, the statement says.
In Baidibek district of South-Kazakstan region the experts of territorial inspection of the State Inspection Committee of the Kazakh ministry of agriculture detected 35 sheep with signs of infection disease, the ministry's press-service says.
According to initial laboratory research, provisional diagnosis was determined - sheep smallpox. Research on determining the final diagnosis is under way.
The operational headquarters in response to the outbreak of disease was established. Temporary restrictive measures in this settlement were introduced and control over the movement of animals and animal produce was tightened.
Chief state sanitary and veterinary inspectors of areas have been instructed to tighten control over controlled movable objects, to take all the necessary measures to prevent spread of infection to other regions.
