In January-August 2012, 31.24 percent of the premiums of Azerbaijani insurance companies, or over 71.51 million manat were collected on the types of voluntary insurance of the property. Payments for these types exceeded 18.43 million manat, which accounts for 31.3 percent of all refunds.
This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan on the basis of the insurers' activities in January-August 2012, published on the website of the State Insurance Supervision Service under the Ministry.
In the structure of charges on voluntary property insurance most fell to the premium for insurance of motor vehicles in the amount exceeding 37 million manat with payments of more than 14.35 million manat, as well as property insurance against fire and other risks - over 18.03 million manat with payments of 2.14 manat, cargo insurance - more than 10.37 million manat with payments of more than 0.16 manat.
Over 8.48 million manat with payments exceeding 1.53 million manat fell to liability insurance in January-August 2012, credit insurance - over 0.042 million manat with payments exceeding 0.012 million manat.
Premiums for personal insurance exceeded 52.17 million manat with payments of over 26.14 million manat. Charges for insurance against accidents and illnesses exceeded 6.91 million manat with payments of over 1.02 million manat, voluntary medical insurance - over 45.26 million manat with payments of over 25.12 million manat, insurance of citizens traveling abroad - over 1.53 million manat with payments of over 0.133 million manat.
The total volume of premiums on voluntary insurance other than life in this period exceeded 141.67 million manat (61.9 per cent of total premiums) with payments of over 48.897 million manat 180.04 (83.06 percent).
The total volume of premiums of all companies operating in the country was for the first eight months of 2012 228.87 million manat (an increase of 70.24 percent during the year), and payments for the reporting were carried out at 58.87 million manat (an increase of 62.1 percent).
The report of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan in January-August 2012 didn't include outcome of the activities of reinsurance company AzRE.
There are 28 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.
