Kazakhs spend over $500M on cars of local manufacturing

Some 33,500 vehicles have been manufactured in Kazakhstan during first nine months of 2019, which is 47.5 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to KazAutoProm.

The value of manufactured cars reached 229 billion tenge (approximately $587.07 million).

Manufacturing of passenger cars increased by 41.2 percent amounting to 29,846 vehicles. Manufacturing of buses (848 vehicles) increased by 3.5 times. Manufacturing of cargo cars (2,133 vehicles) increased by 2.7 times. Number of manufactured trailers increased from 396 to 613 vehicles, while manufacturing of specialized motor vehicles decreased from 137 to 60 vehicles.

The number of vehicles manufactured during September 2019 was 4,889 vehicles, which is 51.3 percent more than during the same month of 2018.

Furthermore, the number of cars of Kazakh manufacturing, which were sold during first nine months of 2019, equaled 29,693 vehicles, which is 43.6 percent more than during the same period of last year.

From January through September 2019, the market share of Kazakh automobile industry ventures was 57.3 percent compared to 47.3 percent during the same period of last year.

In nine months of 2019, Kazakhs spent 208.6 billion tenge ($534.7 million) to purchase cars of local manufacturing, which is 73.7 percent more than during the same period of last year, the report said.

List of most popular cars in Kazakhstan includes Lada (10,913 vehicles), Hyundai (9,954 vehicles), KIA (2,339 vehicles), Ravon (1,561 vehicles) и Skoda (790 vehicles).

Most popular cars of local manufacturing during the reporting period were Lada Granta (3,661 vehicles), Hyundai Tucson (3,256 vehicles), Lada Vesta (2,653 vehicles), Lada 4x4 (2,469 vehicles) и Hyundai Accent (2,109 vehicles).

The input of industry’s ventures to the Kazakhstan’s GDP during the reporting period reached 229 billion tenge (approximately $587.07 million), which is 57.9 percent more than last year. Investments of industry’s ventures to the fixed capital amounted to 1.7 billion tenge ($4.3 million).
