Kazakhstan's petroleum gas exports to EU increase amid COVID-19

Kazakhstan has exported 10,020 tons of petroleum gas and other gaseous hydrocarbons worth to EU countries to 3.2 million euros in June 2020, Eurostat representative told Trend.

In turn, overall 1H2020 petroleum gas and other gaseous hydrocarbons export from Kazakhstan to EU amounted to 84,733 tons worth 31.7 million euros.

Thus, compared to May 2020 the export volume increased by 2.4 percent (9,778 tons), whereas compared to Jan. 2020 the volume decreased by 37.6 percent (16,080 tons).

The value of petroleum gas and other gaseous hydrocarbons export from Kazakhstan to EU countries was 35.1 percent more than in May 2020 (2.3 million euros), and 56.5 percent less than in Jan. 2020 (7.5 million euros).

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and EU countries amounted to $13.1 billion over 1H2020, compared to $15.4 billion during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export to EU countries amounted to $10.4 billion over the period from January through June 2020, compared to $12.4 billion during the same period of 2019.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from EU countries slightly exceeded $2.7 billion over the reporting period, compared to $2.9 billion during the same period of 2019.
