BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. Iran’s non-oil exports to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached $780 million in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Director General of the International Customs Cooperation Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Omid Golzari said, Trend reports.
The director general noted that Iran exported 1.98 million tons of non-oil goods to the EAEU member countries for 6 months, with Russia being the main market with $440 million worth of goods sold.
Golzari also said that Iran’s non-oil exports to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus were $86.4 million, $29.4 million, and $8.6 million respectively in the same period.
He added that Iran’s non-oil exports to other EAEU countries were $194 million.
Iran’s total non-oil trade with the EAEU was $1.8 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year, involving 3.9 million tons of goods.
Meanwhile, Iran’s total non-oil trade turnover for the first half of this year was $54.6 billion, involving 85.3 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 4.84 percent in value and 23.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil. Due to imposed sanctions, Iran cannot freely export the mentioned products. That’s why it attaches importance to the export of non-oil products.
