The Azerbaijani Government is ready to present privileges for the development of the service sector in the country, the Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister, Heydar Babayev advised, Trend reports. He considers that in the near future 80% of the economy of Azerbaijan will be made up of the service sector.
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, tax privileges have been presented to the service companies in the oil and gas sector.
These companies work in Kazakhstan, Russia, but have selected Baku as a center because no Caspian littoral countries have normal cities located on the coast with good infrastructure, the Minister stated.
According to him, Azerbaijan became a transit country due to the large oil and gas projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum.
He considers that it is impossible to use other routes to transport the energy resources of Turkmenistan to Europe.
Generally Azerbaijan will gain economical advantages from turning into a transit country, Babayev considers.
