Turkish company commissions new power plant in Turkmenistan

The Turkish company Lotus Energy put into operation a gas turbine power plant with a total capacity of 254.2 MW of electricity in the nearby district of Ashgabat Ak Bugday.

The Energy and Industry Ministry's state corporation Turkmenenergo was a customer of the plant. The enterprise has two powerful gas-turbine units of the U.S. company General Electric, each of which is capable of annually producing 127.1 MW of electricity.

The new plant will increase the power supply in Ashgabat and the Akhalsk region. The project cost is estimated at 120 million euro. The special gas bleeder, gas reduction station and switchgear 220 \ 110 \ 35 kW were laid at the power plant.
