Kazakhstan's oil production will increase in 2011 by 0.13 million barrels per day to 1.74 million, the U.S. State Energy Information Administration (EIA) Short-Term Energy Outlook reads.
EIA earlier predicted a growth in oil production in the country at 0.09 million barrels per day.
According to the report, the highest level of oil production in Kazakhstan in 2011 will occur in the second and fourth quarters at 1.75 million barrels per day. In the first quarter, the figure will amount to 1.74 million and in the third quarter it will reach 1.73 million barrels per day.
In 2012, EIA projected oil production in Kazakhstan at 1.82 million barrels per day compared to the 1.77 million forecast last month. In the first quarter, the figure will be 1.8 million barrels per day, the second - 1.81 million, the third - 1.83 million and the fourth - 1.84 million.
According to BP, Kazakhstan's proven oil reserves amounted to 39.8 billion barrels in early 2010. Gas production in the country, according to BP, was 1.682 million barrels per day in 2009, which is 8.5 percent more than the volume in 2008.
