The number of payment terminals, ATMs and bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan has significantly increased compared to last year, Trend reports referring to the statistics of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU).
The number of bank cards in circulation from January through November 2020 amounted to 26 million cards, which is 5.9 million more than in the same period last year.
According to the information, Anorak and TBC Bank issued almost 1,000 cards for two. A month ago, TBC Bank, which began operations in June, issued 801 cards, while Anorbank, licensed at the end of August, released 104 cards.
At the same time, the number of installed payment terminals in Uzbekistan amounted to 437,163, increasing 62,036 or 17 percent compared to the same period last year.
Almost 40 percent (4,332) of all ATMs are installed in Tashkent, 9.2 percent (1,070) - in Fergana region and 7.7 percent (892) - in Samarkand region.
At the same time, a quarter of all terminals are in Tashkent. Least of all terminals are installed in Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Navoi regions.
In addition, the number of available ATMs and kiosks amounted 11,621, which is 2,912 or 33 percent more compared to the same period last year.
Earlier it was reported that the largest number of terminals installed in Uzbekistan for 10M2020 falls on People's Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, amounting to 55,872 terminals. It is followed by Agrobank and Ipoteka Bank with 47,271 and 44,835 terminals, respectively.
Kapitalbank installed the largest number of ATMs and self-service kiosks during 10M2020, which amounted to 3,036.
At the same time, 1,865 ATMs and self-service kiosks were installed by Agrobank and 1,006 of them were installed by People's Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In addition, receipts through payment terminals in Uzbekistan from January through October 2020 exceeded 65.06 trillion soums ($6.25 billion).
